Do I fill out an income tax 1040 listing D form if I sold stock at a profit of less than $700? I'm hearing different answers from a few contrasting people. Someone said that I would only use schedule D if my gain was over $1500. Anyone know the answer? Thanks!

What Line On A Form 1040 Shows You Your Total Income Tax? ?

I am refering to the 2007 pattern 1040 for tax returns. Also, Is taxable income the same as income tax?

Answer: The slash where it says your tax liability or something to that effect.

Taxable income is NOT the same as income tax. Taxable income is what the income tax due is based on. A percentage of the amount of ready money that you made that is taxable.
