I heard the 2001 tax rebate was an increase on the 2001 tax refund while the 2008 tax rebate is a credit toward 2008 tax payments. Is this true? Why would the command use the term "rebate" for both of these?
Answer: The 2001 and 2008 "rebates" were almost identical. Both reduced the lowest income tax rate. The word "rebate" is the trendy term for it, although it is not the legal term for it.
