The popular $1,000 per child credit is set to expire after 2010. Will it be extended? I know that President Obama has promised no tax increases for families making less than 200K. There are tons of families that brand less than 200K that will see their taxes increase if this provision expires. What

When claiming proceeds taxes, is it possible to get the child tax credit if your only income is a pension and social security? Since pensions and common security aren't counted toward earned income credit, I dont know if I modulate for the child credit
Answer: The Child Tax Credit can only diminish your tax liability to $0. If you are already at $0 it's of no value to you. And since you don't have any earned income, you cannot benefit from the Additional Child Tax Credit which is refundable.

Pelf is tight, so I want to claim all my exemptions so the taxes aren't taken off my corroboration. My wife and I qualify for Earned Income credit and the Child Tax credit with our two kids. If I do this will I still get a refund, or will I have to pay?
