Can You Claim Tax Back From A Working Holiday In New Zealand?
Question by Becky K | Posted in Australia
I have been working in New Zeland on a unexpected basis under my 1 year working visa. When we did this in Australia after we had left we were able to claim back all of the tax we had paid whilst we were there. Do you be acquainted with if you can do the same thing after leaving New Zeland and if so how?
Answer: If you were here for less than 183 days then you are classed as a New Zealand non-householder employee and you should be able to get your income tax back (so long as you paid the correct amount of tax to Inland Gross income when you were here). Naturally there are lots of forms you have to fill out.
I Rent Out A Flat - Can I Claim Tax Back On My Own Home?
Question by mikmac | Posted in United Kingdom
I farm out out a small flat - my property "business". I am declaring my takings to the tax man. Because I do the paperwork for the "business" in my own home, can I claim back a proportion of my own household bills from the tax man?
Answer: I don't over recall it would really be worth it. See example four, what % of time do you use your house to run this property 'business'? I bet its not very much. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/bimmanual /bim47825.htm

What you lack to be familiar with before claiming tax back:
If you have stopped working anywhere within the over six years, you can claim for a tax refund . However, if you have stopped working during the prevailing tax year, you will have to mark time work the end of tax year.
