i have aquired riches valued at 50,000 and was sent a paper stating that i need to pay an estate tax i was wondering if anyone knows the presentage censure of estate tax? the property is located in maine if that makes a differance (im sure it does)

School board balances budget without tax hikes again

The Loyalsock Township Prepare Board on Wednesday night voted 9-0 to approve an $18.3 million budget.

In the 2010-11 budget the tangible estate tax millage rate is 13 mills, meaning that the annual tax bill on a property assessed at $100,000 is $1,300.

This will be the fifth year in a row the Loyalsock Township Indoctrinate Board has a balanced budget with no tax increase.

"This year we pulled out all the stops - we refinanced an expense that saved us $153,000, we had some stimulus in money leftover and we take a conservative approach," said Gerald L. McLaughlin, business foreman. "We certainly meet all the needs of the district and try to be supportive to the school's needs."
