Do I Have To File Tax Extension If I Get Money Back?
Question by Jimmy V | Posted in United States
I'm present to be late doing my taxes, since my tax preparer did not send it to me in time. I'm getting medium of exchange back and won't owe the government? Should i still file an extension? How much will the government take from me since I did file on time?
Answer: If you e-file, you have until April 17th, 11:59pm to submit it (though if you hang on that long and have computer difficulties, the IRS isn't going to forgive you). If you mail, you have until midnight tonight to file.

Can You File Tax Extension Even If You Have The Money To Pay The Tax?
Question by Ted | Posted in United States
if i made 250k this year and saved 200k for a domicile, and i plan to buy a house early next year for 200k but if i pay self-employed Fed & Situation tax i won't have enough money to buy it for cash.
Should i buy the house and file an extension to pay it a few months later?
Answer: An extension only gives you more opportunity to prepare your return and file. It doesn't give you an extension on time to pay what you owe - that's still due on the original 4/15 date.
