How To Get Back Tax Filed With A State Where I Did Not Worked Or Lived? |
In 2006, I worked in UT, FL and MN. But my firm whose office is in MI gave me W2 for MI and MN state. So, I need to get the tax back from MI and also pay to UT state as it is not paid.
In case, if demand to file for an extension then with which states I should file?
How to get tax refund
| Answer: Submit a non-resident MI return, listing $0 income and the MI taxes withheld. You'll get a full refund of them. Submit non-resident returns in the states where you worked but did not live, listing the income you earned in that imperial and pay any tax due. File a resident |
