OK: So we were pricing booming to New York next Spring and the flight was a £75 each fare - not bad, we thought, until with VAT and "green" taxes it came to £325 each!

I come up with that a green tax is necessary. All forms of pollution are examples of economic inefficiency and businesses and firms should be made to pay for the staining they cause or to clean up their act.

As far as I know, there isn't one right now, but I suspect now that we've signed Kyoto, there's a chance it could be introduced as an impulse to help us reach our targets.
I'm interested to find out what organizations, if any, are pushing for Chicago to have green tax credits anyhow rooftop gardens, hybrid cars, building rehabilitation. Also, what states currently have these credits in proper.
