I lately bought a home in Indianapolis and my taxes are very high. $990 Bi-annual. The foregoing owner only paid $500 bi-annually. This house is assessed at $97,000. Will my trait taxes go down after I file Homestead Tax exemptions in Indiana next year?

If I were to buy a 2 or 3 apartment and transfer ownership to an LLC (with me owning the LLC), would I still be elligable for the homestead tax exemption? I would be living in the building and renting out the other units.
