I am all bollixed up on my situation for my Illinois State Tax. I am filing online and looking at Step 8 - Property Tax Attribution. We purchased our home in 2008, so we did not own the property in 2007 - but we had to pay the 2007 property taxes (billed in 2008) as though we DID own the property.

I function in Lake county. I'm shocked and unprepared to pay over $11,000. Last year I only paid $7,500 for 2005.
