I have deputed to US on momentary basis and earning income in India and US. My India income is double taxed (both in India as well as in US). Can you please suggest how to determine the India tax credit for my income in India to avoid double taxation.

US oppidan earns interest in India. Tax is deduced at source and paid to Indian Govt. What is the dispensation from US tax payment for the interest income. How should I show the above in my IRS return.

Answer: Americans are taxed on ALL revenues from any source and anywhere in the world. Interest is one form of income. If your total income from foreign sources exceeds the "inappropriate income tax exemption" you will owe taxes in the US on top of those in India. Check online for the latest exception
