Answer: In the USA, I don't differentiate of anything called a Mortgage Tax. The money you pay to the bank, because you borrowed the loan is called Interest.

Is NYS State Transfer Tax And NYS Mortgage Tax Deductible On My Tax Return?

Basically bought and sold my the place that I live in this year. I had to pay a NYS transfer tax( on the sale I believe) and to pay a NYS Mortgage TAx(on the purchase). I am using Turbo tax and i am unsure if these amounts are to be entered anywhere if at all? Thanks in in front of....


Answer: Delivery tax, deed stamps and other incidental charges are not deductible. Instead, they are expenses of the sales event. If you paid them as the seller, they would reduce your gain (or increase your loss). If you paid them as the purchaser, they increase the basis cost of your home.

Can I Let Fiance Claim Mortgage Tax Credit?

My fiance pays my mortgage payment but the allow and house are in my name only. Can he claim the loan interest tax credit? If so how do I allow it? What forms do I need?

Answer: He lives in your organization and pays the mortgage. Does he pay it directly or give you the money? If he gives you the money, and then you pay it, you can deduct the mortgage interest and belongings tax. He cannot deduct anything on the house since he does not own the property.
