Some neighborhoods that have Pittsburgh addresses only have a 1% profits tax, some have a 3% income tax. (Dormont has a Pittsburgh address but only has a 1% income tax). Where can I find a listing that provides this Information. Hyperlinks would be very helpful. Thank you!
Answer: Postal addresses do not comply with to actual city boundaries. You have to know what city, borough, or township you're in. For exempli gratia, Carnegie has a Pittsburgh address. But it's not in Pittsburgh. It has its own mayor and its kids don't go to Pittsburgh schools.

I am new in Pittsburgh PA, moved from West Seaside. I hear certain items are exempt from sales tax. I know about clothes and shoes, but what else is exempt?
Answer: Grub (to be prepared at home), clothing, drugs, textbooks, heating fuel.
Other than that, a Pittsburgh (truly, Allegheny County) resident pays 7% sales tax on goods and services.

Answer: The real estate taxes are high throughout the county. There are a great many old people here who do not work any longer so wage tax gate's aren't what they are in other places.
