How To Stay Motivated In Boring Tax Accounting Class?

I'm a funds major and am currently taking a tax accounting class. The book feels like a 600 page-boy instruction manual with no soul. I start zoning out after reading one page. Any tips on maintaining concentration in a stratum this dry and boring?
