I am Canadian. I am living at Detroit now, but I am working for and get pay from a South African private limited company at new jersey. Do I need pay Detroit city tax because it's 2.5% on my income, it's really big money.
Answer: When you calling and live in Detroit, you are consider as a resident there. Once you are resident there, you must pay 2.5% of resident tax. The only way is to move out the burgh and work outside of it (working from home:).

Could there be a sort action act law suit againest the city of Detroit? There are a lot of people who have had this problem. This make me wounder about not getting this years tax refund back from them. I conjecture that the major has to pay on his things!!
