I have not resided in Massachusetts since Sep 2002. I have not lived in the US since Jul 2004. I have lived abroad. My home of record has remained Massachusetts, but I don't know if I have been shortchanging myself on tax returns. Should I be claiming non-citizen or is there something else I can do?
Answer: Since you are efficacious duty military, your domicile does not change when you are posted out-of-state. You are a MA resident and since you are abroad you can NOT change it.
