Tax Penalty?

I have a tax into question. I have a friend who received unemployment while she was working. She is scared because now by January 31st the 1099 will be sent to her. She will be receiving a 1099 but her certainly is on the penalty. Obviously one should not receive unemployment when they are employed.

Answer: A lot of people get unemployment for part of the year and line another part of the year. The 1099 and W-2 forms have no dates so no immediate problem. But the unemployment service may be calling her later to check on the dates.
