On WETM, in November of this year I heard about a proposed legislation that would rip off senior citizens with less than 40.000 a year be totally exempt from paying property taxes.
Answer: You said it yourself..it is a PROPOSED bill.
Even if it did hit on, by the time it is said and done the House will have had to raise taxes elsewhere to cover this tax exemption and that means ticking off "someone" else who will fundamentally say "no we don't want OUR taxes
