Any Issue Changing Address While US Citizenship(N-400) Application Is In Progress?

I submitted my US citizenship application on Dec 24th 2008, when I was in Champaign, Illinois. I was called for feel print 3 weeks ago and it was done. Now I have moved to Edison, NewJersey 2 weeks ago due to job change. Giving swap of address to USCIS at this point will cause any problem to my application?

Answer: You have to piece a change of address to USCIS within 10 days until you become a US citizen! Every change of give a speech to even if you have no pending case. No, your change of address will not cause any delay but if you don't report your variation of address, it can have serious consequences.

You can either do so online at www.uscis.gov by submitting an electronic AR-11 or you can correspondence the same form to them. In addition, if you have a pending case, you have to call them up at (800) 375-5283 so that they could update your address on your while application because sending them AR-11 does not automatically update your address on your pending cases. Please communication your change of address ASAP because not reporting it may have consequences (in fact, you can be fined, they talk about giving jailtime to people not reporting their location but I don't know if that law has ever been enforced).

In my opinion, that law requires you to reside in the district for at least 3 months Former to filing but it doesn't say that you are not allowed to move afterwards. It would be logical to think he should not have moved and he made another mistake by not reporting his substitution of address too. So he should report his address, his application may be denied but it's still better to be honest. They would find out about his new job anyway.

How Long Does It Take For The INS To Process The N-400 Application?

When well they inform me with all the details?

Answer: Ugh... Dismal for the person above's information, they obviously need to get a life, as ICE has nothing to do with the processing of your N-400 application.

Once you troop an application with USCIS, no matter what type of application it is, you can expect to receive a receipt back from USCIS within 15 days of filing (45 days if you sent your application to Laguna Niguel, CA or Vermont Mending Center). If you have not received this within that time period, please call USCIS' customer service words, whose number is available on their website at http://www.uscis.gov

The receipt you receive will fix up with provision you with additional details of your case. It will also tell you further information about the processing of it as well... You loosely receive your biometrics appointment (fingerprint, photo, and signature) within 30 days after you take home the receipt. Sometimes it may take a bit less, sometimes a bit longer, just depending on how busy the particular center is that you have filed with.

After you unmitigated the process at your biometric appointment, the personnel there will tell you the next steps. You will of course have your meeting & then oath ceremony, but the time period you receive them in varies.

Generally, it takes about 7 months for the without a scratch process. Like I said, however, it can sometimes take less or longer, depending upon the office that has your case & the herself who is working on your case as well. Other factors that can prolong the process include requests for facts they may send you, background checks, name checks, etc.

Good luck with everything though & congratulations on your first steps to citizenship!!
