Trounce online tax??
Most of the former answers given are adequate. However, the way to get the cheapest service is to go to irs.gov on January 12th and click on the FreeFile icon. this will present you to a list of providers who offer free or very low cost online services for particular classes of taxpayers. In foregoing years the IRS has had a useful facility where you answer a few basic questions about yourself and it directs you to the first service based on those answers.
Although the services are not actually endorsed by the IRS they do have to meet infallible criteria. All those mentioned in the replies so far were on the list last year.
The difference between going unambiguously to the website of your choice and doing it via the IRS website is that each company has to provide free returns for fixed classes of people who otherwise would not have access to reliable tax preparation.
I would like to get more refund thru my deductions. I was wondering if the online website, such as TurboTax & H&R balk do the same job like a CPA does. Do u think it is worth to have a CPA to do the tax in order to get more deduction? OR it doesn't incident because the online website do the same thing as well?
I actually doesn't have a whole lot to deduct, mostly work related junkets expanse.
Unless you have a very complicated tax filing, use the IRS free tax service. I did this last year, it was easy with lots of on line remedy. I got my refund back in record time.
good luck
